Motley Crue Shares New Version of 'Same 'Ol Situation' Video

The band added clips from 'The Dirt'

Mötley Crüe combines the past with the present in a newly-released video. The official 2019 version of the clip for “Same ‘Ol Situation (S.O.S.)” uses the original performance video as the basis, but adds scenes from the Netflix biopic The Dirt.

“Same ‘Ol Situation (S.O.S.)” was the fifth and final single from Dr. Feelgood - the band’s landmark album that turned 30 this year. The 1989 LP was Mötley Crüe’s most commercially-successful effort and also featured hits “Kickstart My Heart, “Without You” and the title track.

The Dirt has been a big hit with fans since it premiered in March. The movie explores how four misfits came together in early 80s Hollywood to form a hard-rocking band that scored both hits and tabloid headlines.

The movie soundtrack turned into Mötley Crüe’s first top 10 album since 2008’s Saints of Los Angeles, and gave the band an excuse to record four new songs: “Ride the Devil,” “Crash and Burn,” “The Dirt (Est. 1981)” featuring Machine Gun Kelly, and the surprising cover of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin.”

“Same ‘Ol Situation (S.O.S.)” is the second classic track that Mötley Crüe turned into a new video because of The Dirt. “Take Me to the Top” was given the same treatment, but it was the first time a video had been made for the song from 1981’s Too Fast For Love.
